The Verb: The "DOES WHAT" or ACTION in a sentence

In any sentence, there has to be something the noun does. Often, find the subject of the sentence and ask it, "does what"....This is how you find the main verb



Verbs: (The many kinds)
Gerund: Verbs that end in -ing (Example: biking, playing)

Action: Verbs that show action (Example: scream, run)
Mental: Verbs that don't show physical action (Example: think, dream)

Linking Verbs: 


Auxiliary: (pronounced OX-ill-ER-E): 





Phrasal Verbs:

 Subject Verb Agreement: If a subject is SINGULAR, the Verb has to have an "s" on the end, IF a subject is plural, the verb does not have an "s"



 Verb Tenses: Figuring out how to stay in the same tense when writing: 

Perfect and Continuous tenses: (This is a bit more complicated)
